Ecodrum Composter has been named the Best Sustainability Destination in America by American Recognition Awards, recognizing its composter manufacturing and community-focused Compost Network.
Ecodrum Composter has been named the winner of the Best Sustainability Destination in America award by American Recognition Awards. The recognition highlights the company's work in manufacturing the Ecodrum in-vessel composter and building the first sustainability destination in America through its Compost Network.
Based in Ozark, Arkansas, Ecodrum Composter started in agriculture, handling mortality at farms. As farms grew, so did the need to handle more efficiently. That need led to the development of the Ecodrum in-vessel composter. The company has sold over 2,000 Ecodrum Composters throughout North America. In 2026, it also received an award for Leadership in Environmental Education from the Arkansas Environmental Federation.
While the company manufactures equipment, its focus extends beyond sales. Ecodrum Composter aligned its business to create opportunities for youth and communities. It founded Compost Network and built the first sustainability destination in America. The site provides hands-on experience with sustainability through an innovative STEM education experience and has created agritourism in the community.
Customers include farmers, schools, communities, meat processors, transfer stations, and landfills. The company's approach is not just to sell equipment but to work with communities in empowering youth and communities. That work is central to the recognition from American Recognition Awards.
Byron Irwin, Founder, President, and CEO of Ecodrum Composter, said: " Great things are never built without hard work, faith, preserverance and people who believe in making a difference- at Compost Network every effort we make today is an investment in youth and communities of tomorrow "
The Best Sustainability Destination in America award reflects a model that combines manufacturing, education, and community development. Ecodrum Composter's operations in Ozark, Arkansas, and its reach across North America show how a business can grow while investing in the next generation. Through Compost Network, the company continues to provide practical sustainability education and support for communities, turning everyday waste handling into opportunities for learning and local impact.
