Karthik Achari of PepMD: Healthcare Infrastructure Entrepreneur of the Year 2026

Karthik Achari of PepMD has been named Healthcare Infrastructure Entrepreneur of the Year 2026 for building the first independent clinical intelligence platform dedicated exclusively to peptide and metabolic medicine. The platform addresses a critical gap in provider education as GLP-1 therapies and peptide treatments have moved from niche applications to mainstream medical practice.

PepMD was founded by Karthik Achari, whose background in pharmaceutical supply and clinical education revealed how rapidly the knowledge gap was widening as thousands of licensed providers entered the space without formal training or reliable guidance. When peptide therapies crossed into the mainstream, the available information came largely from vendors, influencers, and incomplete research, leaving physicians, nurse practitioners, functional medicine providers, and medspa clinicians to navigate complex clinical decisions without a defensible framework.

What distinguishes the peptide and metabolic medicine platform is its independence. PepMD carries no commercial supply interest, no product to sell, and no agenda beyond providing the clarity that providers need to practice confidently and compliantly. In a category where most educational content is tied to commercial interests, that neutrality has become the core offering. The platform delivers physician-grade education, certification, and regulatory guidance covering peptide mechanisms, patient selection, protocol design, and FDA compliance, written at the level of a clinical peer rather than a wellness brand.

The platform operates through PepMD Pro on a subscription model and offers digitally verifiable provider certifications. The company is currently advancing toward CME accreditation and developing a nationally recognized physician certification program that would set the clinical standard for the field. These efforts are being led through the PepMD Research Institute, established as a long-term vehicle for contributing to the evidence base in peptide medicine.

"The PepMD Research Institute exists because this field deserves a credible institution advancing it," said founder Karthik Achari. "Providers need more than education. They need a platform that is actively contributing to the science, setting the standard, and doing it without a commercial agenda."

Looking ahead, the company aims to become the institutional standard for peptide medicine education in the United States. The roadmap includes formal partnerships with leading medical associations in functional medicine, obesity medicine, and longevity care, as well as a public-facing physician directory that would allow patients to locate certified providers. The platform is also developing the capacity to serve as a real-time regulatory intelligence layer for the category, with IRB-aligned research partnerships and tools designed to help providers build compliant protocols while staying ahead of FDA developments as they unfold.
